Hicks finished eighth overall in the women’s javelin at the NCAA Championships, posting the best finish by a 49er woman at the event since 2007 and earning first-team All-America honors.
Ross advanced to the women’s javelin finals at the NCAA West Preliminaries after earning top three finishes in five of eight competitions and individual titles at the Ben Brown Invitational and the Cal-Nevada Championships.
Bains competed in the hammer throw at the NCAA West Preliminaries and helped the 49er men win the 2011 Big West title, scoring in the shot put, hammer and discus at the conference championships.
To qualify for the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must compile a minimum cumulative 3.25 GPA and must participate in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships including preliminaries.
