Join Emeriti and Retired Faculty and Staff at the upcoming Spring Luncheon featuring the program:

CSULB’s Student Emergency Intervention and Wellness Program
Dr. Jeff Klaus, Associate Vice President and Dean of Students
Carol Menard-Fulthorp, Assistant Dean of Students

This is a comprehensive initiative that identifies and immediately serves some of CSULB’s most at-risk students which include our displaced students, food insecure students and students experiencing an emergency situation or crisis. The program goals are to provide at-risk students with meals, housing, emergency funds and counseling all of which correlate to student success, health and wellness.

The need for such a pantry to address already apparent student food insecurity issues was made even more evident through a recent CSU system-wide study led by CSULB School of Social Work assistant professor Rashida Crutchfield. The study showed approximately one in 10 students in the CSU to be homeless and one in five not having steady food access. University officials reported in February that roughly 23 percent of students within the CSU experience food insecurity.

Lunch and Program $25
