Assessing Resident Power in Long Beach

Resident power is one of the The California Endowment-recognized drivers (or catalysts) of change for the "Building Healthy Communities"-desired health outcomes. To help evaluate this goal, the CHER Learning & Evaluation Team assembled a sub-committee including community members and community-based organization leaders to be involved in the early developmental phases of a survey assessing resident power. The survey focuses on three core ingredients of resident power including engagement, leadership development, and influence. The survey was administered to 77 BHCLB involved community members. Results of this survey will be shared with the BHCLB at a L&E convening in early 2014 as part of BHCLB’s ongoing development as a learning community.
