A 1½-Day Workshop Supporting Faculty Research

Schedule and Details:
The workshop will begin at 9:00am each day, with a lunch break at 12:00.
Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Topics will include:

  • Study design & study goals
  • Parameters of power/sample size calculations
  • Formulae for different situations
  • Available Software solutions (including PASS & NQuery)

Facilitators:

Martin Lee, PhD, Adjunct Professor of Biostatistics at UCLA. After completing his BA, MS and PhD (1979) at UCLA, Prof Lee went on to pursue his research interests in clinical trials and drug design. He has applied his Math and Biostatistics knowledge to biological problems covering fields like oncology, immunology and hematology.

He is also one of the founders of Prolacta, a company that develops high-value products derived from human milk to meet the needs of premature infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. He is currently the VP of Clinical Research and Development.
